Those looking for a tranquil experience can spend time in our day spas being pampered.   Eureka Springs is a shopper’s paradise. Boutiques, antiques, handcrafted jewelry, eclectic gifts, and world-renowned arts can be found anywhere in town.


Outdoor adventures abound. The city is surrounded by 2 rivers and 3 lakes. On Table Rock Lake or Beaver Lake there is great fishing, smooth water for canoe/kayak float trips.    The 1600-acre Lake Leatherwood City Park is crisscrossed with 21 miles of hiking and biking trails, and the 85-acre spring-fed lake is perfect for a day of boating or fishing.

Nearby caves and caverns are perfect for exploring including War Eagle Cavern located on Beaver Lake, Onyx Cave, and Cosmic Cavern.    Several stables in the area offer horseback riding.

blog3Experience the exhilarating thrill of a zip line canopy tour in the heart of the beautiful Ozark Mountains. Soar through the air from up to 200+ feet high with cable lengths from up to 1800 feet long over vast gorgeous, beautiful Ozark hardwood trees and limestone cliffs.   The zip lines are open Thursday through Tuesday, from 10am to 4pm.
Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is an organization that provides lifetime refuge for abandoned, abused, and neglected “big cats”. The refuge mainly specializes in tigers, but there are also lions, leopards, cougars, bobcats, black bears, ligers, servals, a monkey, a coatimundi and a grizzly bear.  Turpentine Creek is open daily from 9am-6pm.

 

blog5While in Eureka Springs, take a tram, van or walking tour and learn about our historic buildings and unique past.  Trolleys are a preferred way to get around the winding, crisscrossed streets.

Everyone feeling Irish can join in the 21st Annual St. Paddy’s Day Parade on Saturday,March 14th.   Festivities kick off at 2 p.m. as the parade rolls down Spring Street from the Carnegie Library to the courthouse on Main Street.

 

Runners and walkers will participate in the 33rd Annual Victorian Classic on Saturday, March 21st.   More information and registration can be found at www.eurekarotary.org.

 

blog1Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge hosts it’s 25th annual Kite Festival celebration March 28, 2015. “Art With an Altitude,” sponsored by KaleidoKites of Eureka Springs, is a free family event inviting attendees to bring their own kites or buy one at the refuge. The celebration includes vendors, contests and fun activities for parents and children.
