Opera in the Ozarks

The nationally acclaimed summer music festival and training program for up-and-coming opera professionals has announced its 2016 Summer Season!

The 66th season for Opera in the Ozarks is set to run from Friday, June 17th through Friday, July 15th.

The opera offers 19 fully staged costumed performances at the Opera in the Ozarks’ Eureka Springs mountainside venue, Inspiration Point.

The lineups for this season features Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Britten’s Albert Herring, and double-bill of Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci and Puccini’s Il Tabarro.

Opera in the Ozarks said audiences can look forward to well-loved operas spotlighting the exceptional voices of tomorrow’s operatic stars, accompanied by an orchestra.

“This will be an exciting season that runs the gamut from hilarious, refined English comedy to Italian works of vindictive passion and bloody revenge,” Opera in the Ozarks Artistic Director Thomas Cockrell said. “In Albert Herring, Benjamin Britten pokes fun at the stuffy British upper crust in a tale about a meek village boy who is selected by a comical committee to be the village’s May King because there are no virtuous young lasses left in town.”

Single tickets start at $25 for adults and $10 for children and students with a valid ID.Special discounted multi-ticket packages are also available so that patrons can enjoy each of the 2016 Summer Season’s mainstage operas.
