Lucas Dalton was born in the small town of Haworth, Oklahoma to a musical family. Lucas’ dad, Titus, was a singer/songwriter who had just signed a record deal in Nashville before he died in a tragic car accident when Lucas was still less than a year old. Growing up on the songs and legends of his father, Lucas was inspired to take guitar lessons from his Aunt and soon after began playing in front of his first audiences at the local church. When he graduated high school, Lucas went to a Christian University in Texas and majored in Vocal Performance. He dropped out after just two years after reading the book “On The Road” by Jack Kerouac.
Incited by the poetic beauty of the beatnik generation, Lucas left school with nothing but his guitar, a few changes of clothes and five hundred dollars and began hitch-hiking around the Continental United States busking and letting the wind blow him where he may. It was the overwhelmingly positive reaction to his music that he received while playing his guitar and singing on the street corners that made Lucas realize that he could make something more of his music. A short while after his stint on the road, Lucas moved out to Nashville and has been chasing his musical dreams ever since.
